We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to drive the modernization of our data platforms and practices. This pivotal role will involve a range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing our data management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Data Platform Management: Assess and improve existing data platforms, exploring innovative technologies and cloud solutions to enhance scalability, accessibility, and security.

Process Optimization: Help establish and refine standardized procedures for data management, governance, integration, and quality management, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to promote data-driven initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Performance and Innovation: Monitor and optimize data platforms (primarily Microsoft SQL Server), focusing on enhancing data processing efficiency and overall system performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a Database Architect or Data Engineer role.
- Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft data development tools (e.g., SSMS, Visual Studio Data Tools).
- Advanced skills in T-SQL development, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Experience in SQL Server performance monitoring and tuning.
- Strong background in SSIS, with Data Factory experience being a plus.
- Proficient in SSRS and advanced Powershell scripting for database operations.
- Familiarity with C# scripting in SSIS (Script Task).
- Experience in Data Warehousing and cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred).
- Understanding of OpenAI technologies and their application in data utilization.
- Solid knowledge of the Microsoft Azure Data Platform and experience with its “Power” platform toolchain.
- Proficient in using Git for version control and experience working with API calls (handling JSON and XML).
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS, with some familiarity in Python.
- Experience working within an Agile workflow and ability to work independently.
- Strong interest in database technologies and data analytics.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Excellent organizational, teamwork, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Effective time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- General Linux experience.
- Familiarity with common law firm application databases (e.g., Aderant Expert, iManage, WestKM, Foundation).
- Experience with Idera SQL Diagnostics Manager for SQL monitoring and troubleshooting.
