Job Description

Position Overview:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, managing, and providing engineering support for our networking and telephony infrastructure. Your focus will be on optimizing stability, availability, reliability, and performance. You will monitor and control infrastructure processes and implement system security measures to ensure a stable and secure systems platform. Your contributions will also include assisting with the implementation of new technologies to enhance service delivery, both locally and remotely, while supporting resource management and capacity planning. This role requires rotating on-call support for after-hours incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, configure, document, deploy, and provide top-level support for computing infrastructure technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Network & Telephony Manager to develop and enforce standards for network and telephony technology.
  • Manage changes to the production network environment, coordinating with vendors for updates.
  • Resolve escalated incidents and engage in problem management activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and make recommendations for technology improvements.
  • Assist in negotiating software and hardware purchasing agreements.
  • Participate in and manage cross-functional projects to implement new or updated technology.
  • Provide cross-training for IT staff on technology maintenance and usage.
  • Manage medium to large projects, including writing project charters.
  • Maintain a lab environment for development and testing purposes.
  • Uphold professionalism and deliver quality service to internal teams, external partners, and vendors through various communication channels.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  • Palo Alto Security Engineer certification.
  • 8+ years of experience in relevant technology and business skills.
Expertise in Multiple Technology Areas, Including:
  • Cisco Call Manager (10.5.x or higher).
  • Cisco Unity Connection.
  • Palo Alto Firewall (DLP, SSL Decryption, NAT, URL filtering, VPN).
  • Aruba Wireless (Campus and Remote) and Clearpass Policy Manager.
  • Cisco Meeting Server and collaboration endpoints.
  • Video conferencing solutions (Cisco Telepresence/Tandberg).
  • Collaboration tools (Cisco WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Microsoft DNS, WINS, and DHCP.
  • WAN technologies (MPLS, VPLS, Metro-Ethernet).
  • Cisco switching and routing solutions (IOS and Nexus product lines).
  • Routing/Voice protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MGCP, SIP, H.323).
  • Network communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.)
