AVID Technical Resources is partnering with our client to find a Systems Automation Engineer for a contract opportunity in Des Moines, IA.
The Systems Automation Engineer will troubleshoot complex technical issues & maintain high system availability in accordance with SLAs.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
· Provisioning new and rebuilding existing servers · Resolving tier 2&3 complex help desk tickets as assigned · Capacity planning and performance tuning · Developing and maintaining procedures and documentation · Researching and recommending automated approaches for system administration tasks · Communicating with vendors to obtain system configurations, quoting, and support · Daily system and security monitoring · Daily backup operations · Applying systems update · Performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
REQUIREMENTS:
· 5+ years of Systems Engineer experience · Robust scripting and automation experience · Extensive VMWare experience · VMWare Horizon View experience · Cisco UCS Administration experience · Storage experience with both NAS and Block technologies · Windows Server experience · Experience with AD, LDAP/LDAPS, DNS, and DHCP · REST API Automation experience
Desired Experience:
· Python and/or Perl experience · Experience with Solarwinds · Microsoft SQL AlwaysOn · System Engineer certifications such as MCSE or VCAP
